Happy October, Bernal neighbors! 🎃👻 Spooky season is right around the corner, and the neighborhood is already buzzing. Gallery shows, garden work days, puppy socials, chess nights, and live jazz are all on the calendar. Below is a sampling of what's coming up, followed by three October events we want to highlight.
Bernal Heights Kids Halloween Costume Swap

Clearing out closets, or looking to give the little ones a fresh look without buying brand new? The Bernal Heights Parents Group has you covered.
When: Friday, October 9, 5:00 to 7:00 PM
Where: Bernal Heights Blacktop, behind the Library at the Bernal Heights Recreation Center Plaza, 500 Moultrie St
Who: Kids ages 0 to 12
Bring any outgrown costumes your kids have left behind and take home something new-to-you for this year’s festivities. It’s a fantastic way to embrace a sustainable Halloween and share some neighborhood magic.
A Night of Mexican Spirits & Wine Tasting
A fundraiser for Ogden Avenue Gardens
We had so much fun last year that we’re doing it again: premium tequila, smoky mezcal, and Mexican wines, poured for a good cause.
When: Saturday, October 17, 2026, 6:00 to 9:00 PM
Where: Baukunst, 433 Cortland Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110
Sip your way through exclusive tastings paired with small bites crafted to complement every pour. Gather with friends, savor the flavors, and raise a glass for something worth growing. All proceeds benefit Ogden Avenue Gardens.
Come thirsty, leave inspired.
